A dripping tap is a request. A bathroom renovation is a project. Projects bundle the work, the vendor, the agreed amount, and the due date in one place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Go to Entretien<\/strong> and click New project<\/strong>.<\/li>
  2. Under The Work<\/strong>: describe What is the work<\/strong> (required), the Agreed amount<\/strong>, and the Due date<\/strong>.<\/li>
  3. Under Who and Where<\/strong>: choose Who is doing the work<\/strong> \u2014 pick the vendor (add them first in Vendors if they\u2019re new). Status starts as Planned<\/strong>. Tie the project to a Building<\/strong>, and to a Unit<\/strong> \u2014 or leave it as Whole building<\/strong>. Add Notes<\/strong>.<\/li>
  4. Save. The project gets its own detail page tracking the work, the vendor, and the money.<\/li>
  5. Watch the Maintenance metrics: Active Projects<\/strong> (in progress vs. planned), Owed<\/strong> (unpaid amounts), and Spend<\/strong> for the year.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Tips<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
    • Set the agreed amount before work starts, even if it\u2019s a rough number. \u201cWe\u2019ll figure it out\u201d is how a $800 job becomes a $2,400 argument.<\/li>
    • Assign the vendor at creation, not after. An unassigned project is a wish; an assigned one is a commitment with a name on it.<\/li>
    • Close out finished projects with proof-of-work photos on the record. When you sell the building, the project history is the renovation story a buyer wants to see.<\/li><\/ul>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
